Door hangers are a great way to easily get your information out to potential customers that would be a good fit for your company. There are many ways to use door hangers. Two major ways that we see our customers using door hangers would be
1) To canvass entire areas.
Canvassing means passing out flyers and just hanging them on the doors. You can either do strictly canvassing where you just put the door hanger on the door or you can do door knocking where you’re actually going door to door, knocking on the door, introducing yourself and making that pitch to the customer face to face. If the customer’s not home, you then leave the door hanger on there. That would be how you would use it on a mass scale of getting the word out about your company.
2) You could also use it on a smaller scale where you do what we call five around.
The five-around program is essentially you go and service one home on your schedule and then you put a door hanger on the five houses that are directly near that house. So, the two next door and then three across the street. That’s an easy way to just better leverage where you’re at and the fact that you’ve done service for a neighbor and leverage that opportunity to say, “We just serviced one of your neighbor’s house. Feel free to give us a call. Here’s a special offer that we have.” It can build up as well with the fact that you have your van wrapped and you’re in the area and maybe you have some yard signs in the area, maybe you’re doing some Facebook or Every Door Direct Mail in the area, all these things kind of work together. So, door hangers can be a great way to just further get one more touch point in with the customer to help them to call your company.
